Do you have concerns about your preschool or homeschooled child’s development? If so, please call Colonel Johnston Elementary at 520-459-8798 to learn about our Child Find Screenings for children ages 3 - 21 years of age.

CHILD FIND SCREENING DATES SY 2026-2027
The Child Find process identifies children ages 3 through 21 who
may have delays in development or disabilities and may need special
education services. Screenings take place monthly and are free for
on-post residence (housing letter or bill for proof of residency).

Screening Dates (2026-2027 School Year):
August 6, 2026
September 3, 2026
October 1, 2026
November 5, 2026
December 3, 2026
January 7, 2027
February 4, 2027
March 4, 2027
April 1, 2027
May 6, 2027

Process:
Schedule Hearing and Vision Screening with Nurse Lisa at CJES
Nurse Lisa will schedule Child Find date and time
Screenings for Speech, Academic, Cognitive, Physical, Social and
Emotional Areas
Screening results will determine evaluation needs.

If Evaluations are needed, then the appropriate meetings will be
scheduled.
